Island Pacific is led by an experienced and passionate team, many with more than 30 years’ experience in software development for retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers. The team is led by Executive Chairman Shaun Rosen.  Shaun and his brother Davy started Divergent Technologies, the humble beginnings of 3Q Holdings (Island Pacific’s parent company), in South Africa in 1983. Today, more than 30 years later they remain passionate about developing software solutions to drive efficiency and increase profits for retailers and wholesalers around the world.

The focus of the business was developing software for retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers. Shaun has had more than 30 years’ experience in the information technology industry. Davy, along with his brother Shaun founded Divergent Technologies (the humble beginnings of Island Pacific’s parent company 3Q), in South Africa in 1983. In 1986 they brought the company to Australia where Davy served as Technical Director. Davy returned to South Africa in 1994 where until 2002 he was the Technical Director of the JSE-listed Softline Group responsible for R&D, and the Managing Director of VST, Softline’s retail software division.
In 2002 Davy re-joined Shaun Rosen and Clive Klugman, and now lives in the USA, serving as the CEO of Island Pacific USA and UK. Davy provides leadership for the Island Pacific group product strategy and his role involves relentless travel between the US, UK and Australia.

Mark joined the 3Q Board in April 2007 as part of the acquisition of AdvanceRetail Technology Limited, where he had served as Managing Director, and currently has the role of Chief Executive for Island Pacific (Australia and New Zealand) and AdvanceRetail. Mark has more than 30 years’ experience in business software and channel sales, as well as consulting experience with a number of the region’s leading retailers. While Mark lives in Auckland, his role sees him commute between New Zealand, Australia and the company’s international partner operations.

Also originally from South Africa, Alan emigrated to Sydney and joined Divergent Technologies in 1994 where he worked for almost eight years as Financial Controller and then Finance Director. He has had more than 20 years’ experience in the information technology industry.

Alan now combines the role of Mergers and Acquisitions with that of Chief Financial Officer while also serving as the Company Secretary and Executive Director on the 3Q board since its inception in December 2005.

Carolyn rejoined the Island Pacific leadership team in November 2017. She celebrates 30 years delivering retail enterprise solutions, and leading sales, marketing and product strategy teams worldwide. As a key contributor and setting global strategies, her focus remains consistent with a mission to help customers grow their business and maintain their competitive edge in the quick changing retail landscape through technology. With her many years of solution consulting and gaining knowledge of retail best practice methodologies, she is able to translate industry requirements and influence product direction to support the delivery of measureable, value based solutions. Carolyn has worked with other leading software providers including Manugistics, NSB and Oracle, adding to her diverse knowledgebase of technologies and retail solutions.

Originally from the UK, Mike began his career in the USA working in retail from an early age, including 9 years at JC Penneys rising to the position of Senior Merchandise Manager before joining Island Pacific as a business consultant in 1994. Mike has a comprehensive understanding of international retail after more than 30 years’ experience in the industry.
Mike has responsibility for overseeing global sales, marketing and managing the European operation. He is charged with increasing sales as well as developing the global brand, developing key partnerships and ensuring the services, support and customer experience is maximized in the European division.

Richard Gaetano joined Island Pacific in 1995 in the development organization after spending six years at JC Penney as a Merchandising Assistant. He completed his BA in International Business with a minor in Finance and Sociology from California State University Fullerton in 2001. In 2000, he started the Technical Service arm of Island Pacific Systems Inc and then took over product direction by 2003 and has been managing the operation of the business since 2004. Richard has nearly 20 years of retail systems experience including systems integration across platforms and many of the major point solutions across the industry. He currently holds the role of Chief Operating Officer for Island Pacific System Inc (North American and Europe).

Suresh began his career in India in software development. He moved to the US in 1998 to work as consultant for wholesale & retail software solutions and subsequently joined Island Pacific in 2001 as a Senior Programmer Analyst. He has 20+ years of software development experience with 18+ years of Retail software solutions, together with an MBA in Technology Management & Bachelor of Engineering (EEE). In 2011 Suresh relocated back to India and established Island Pacific India in Chennai, which is a strategic center of excellence working with different technology stacks serving multiple products. Suresh currently holds a dual roles of Managing Director of Island Pacific India & VP of Software Development.

Ben joined our leadership team in 2016. As a Bachelor of Business Management, Ben started his career by joining the “Geek” team as a programmer. This combination of “Business and Techie” aided Ben’s successful career path which includes STS (now Aptos), SAP and Upland Software. Together with his knowledge of the retail industry, Ben’s extensive hands-on technical, analytical, design, project management and development cycle expertise are an asset for his role. Under Ben’s guidance the 3Q GTG has a mandate to create better structures, processes, communication and teamwork internally, thereby improving quality and delivery for our customers.
